Thai Actress “Boom Panadda” Distributes Talisman and Garuda Coins to Boost Morale of Troops on Thai-Cambodian Border
Thai actress and Defence Spokeswoman Panadda Wongphudee, affectionately known as “Boom Panadda,” recently met with the respected Buddhist monk Luang Por Warah to receive a sacred talisman cloth and Garuda coins. These items were then distributed to Thai soldiers stationed along the Thai-Cambodian border to bolster their morale amid ongoing tensions in the region.
The talisman cloth and Garuda coins, deeply rooted in Thai spiritual and cultural traditions, are believed to offer protection, strength, and good fortune to those who carry them. The Garuda, a mythical bird-like creature, serves as Thailand’s national emblem and symbolizes authority and power.
Panadda, a prominent actress turned government spokesperson, has taken an active role in supporting Thailand’s military and national defense efforts, especially at the frontline of sensitive border areas. Her visit underscores the importance of psychological and spiritual support alongside physical security measures for soldiers patrolling the contested border zones.
Luang Por Warah, known for his spiritual leadership and blessings, presented the sacred items as part of a ceremony aimed at enhancing the soldiers’ confidence and resilience during their deployment in challenging and sometimes hazardous environments.
This initiative follows a series of heightened border incidents between Thailand and Cambodia, where recent landmine explosions have injured Thai soldiers, raising concerns over stability and the commitment to ceasefire agreements.
By combining cultural heritage with military support, the distribution of talismans and symbolic coins aims to foster unity and strength among troops who face ongoing security challenges.
